We are home...WAY earlier than we thought possible. We were told and planned for 7-12 days at the hospital, and told if everything went PERFECT maybe, just maybe a 5 day stay. We came home at the end of the 4th day. AMAZING!
Dr. Hutchenson came in Sunday morning and said, So you ready to go home? I was kinda dumbfounded and replied with an I guess so? We talked about it and with a rapid pace our nurse Eileen watched me do all the procedures that must be done daily or more often. It was a little unnerving learning and doing as quickly as I had to - but it was bearable and I feel pretty comfortable with the tasks that have to be done.
We have settled back in at home. It nice to be in our own beds with the comforts of home. It's been challenging sanitizing most every thing in our home, figuring how where and how to place urine bags and tubes, where to sterilize equipment, pain management thresholds, how to do two person jobs with just one person, etc.
Melisa is able to eat a regular diet now, although she is still hitting the Popsicle REAL hard. We just have to keep her drinking, drinking, drinking.

You are welcome to - Thursday night would be great for us. We do appreciate it Dorothy.
Here's hoping that recovery at home continues to go well!
Praise the Lord! That is awesome! She is trying to beat her Grandma Lowenberg in the "recovery race" huh? :) We will continue to pray for you all. Love you much!
